This is part 2 of my DIY Tube/Valve Distortion Pedal Build. Front panel is drilled and some of the controls are in power supplies are wired and operational. Next I will start on the preamp circuit by installing the tube sockets and wiring preamp. This Tube Distortion Pedal is going to be based on a preamp I built 2 years ago it is generally built like a the front end of a early Marshall amplifier. They covered the song, but their cover is my favourite version of this song originally written by Bob Dylan. I used a BACKING TRACK, no original song was used here. This song is a classic, it has a lot of guitar parts, and it was kinda sad trying to make an arrangement for 2 guitars, cuz you gotta leave behind some important parts. So I decided to not make arrangements here, I played the song as it was recorded on the original song, I guess its better way to understand its complexity. It has 2 guitars as base, Izzy on the left channel, Slash on the right channel, both playing rhythm, sometimes Clean sometimes w But then Slash added some other stuff to the center of the audio: the lead intro and lead verses (which of course he recorded by separated), the clean octaves during verses, the distortion octaves during choruses and, of course, the solos. Btw, on the original song, the distortion octaves part during choruses is a different guitar than the Solo guitar parts, but I found it was possible to play the solos after the distortion octaves on the same guitar. It took me several days to figure out, and its the hardest tab Ive written so far (hard to write not to learn, its a very easy song to learn actually). Featuring two new presets modeled after a couple classic delays: the Binson Echorec, and the EHX Deluxe Memory Man. In February of 2010 TC Electronic flew Andy and I to the TC Electronic headquarters in Denmark. Andy went along to create a number of Toneprints, and I was presented with the possibility of a custom Flashback. I saw this as a really fun project to work on. We get to do some really cool custom products with our manufacturers, and it 's the part of my job that I enjoy the most. I mean really, who get's to do this kind of stuff? After spending about 30 minutes with the Toneprint software, I realized that this software could create nearly any sound that you want it to. There is no excuse for it it's an addiction. There are two delays that I own that I consider some of my most prized possessions. The Vexter Fuzz Factory is identical in construction to the newest hand-painted Fuzz Factories, including a DC power jack and on/off LED indicator. Because it is hand silk-screened instead of hand-painted, we are able to offer it at a somewhat reduced price! This is a five-knob fuzz using two new old-stock sixties germanium transistors. The circuit is not modeled after any classic fuzz design, but should have been around when Leary was still lucid. Although the five knobs are named for the parameters over which they seem to have the most control, please don't hold me to it. They are controls for various operating levels and biases, and basically shape you a personalized fuzz.

My favorite new amp, and my favorite new pedal...the Jaguar Jr from www.jaguaramplification.com and the KLON Centaur. I used a Historic Gibson SG Les Paul, and my trusty white coilly cable from Bullet cables. The Jag Jr. is so bitchin...112 combo in Viking Purple...tone for days...wish I could crank it up for the demo, but my camera will not let me...it gets all distored and farty if I turn it up...so just imagine the tonal possibilities of this little 17 watt monster! Oh...and the Klon is pretty bitchin too!

Controls can be set at minimum to produce low-volume controllable distortion or increased a bit to achieve a warm tube overdrive sound. Set to maximum, its pronounced fuzz-tone combines with long sustain. The Distortion plus may be powered by batteries or an optional ECB03 AC adapter. Within the central areas of the Output and Distortion controls of the M-104 are some soft, clipped distortions that sound truly authentic, especially with a splash of reverb. Pushing the Distortion level up high produces some classic fuzz tones that are finding their way onto an increasing number of albums, in line with the current retro fascination. This distortion is an enjoyable alternative from LA saturation and thick, British crunch.
